2015 Year in Review
2015 was another exciting year for the Dunwoody Driving Club. Our club continues to grow and the desire for more events increases.
In 2015, we had two events at Brook Run Park. We participated in the Soap Box Derby and Lemonade Days.
We never know how each event will turn out because, like all other car clubs we have to depend on the weather. Lemonade Days was a little wet and it was "really" hot in the parking lot for the Soap Box Derby.
The two events at Brook Run were well attended and it was nice to be partnered with the Food Trucks. We tried two different locations at Brook Run and for 2016, we have decided to use the first parking lot. By using the first parking lot we will have more visibility and parking spots.
For 2016, we have been invited back to Brook Run on Food Truck Thursdays and we will also do Lemonade Days.
In addition, we have been invited to the the Highlands Car Festival in Highlands, NC on June 9-12th. It's about a 150 minute drive from Dunwoody, but it will be worth it because of the beauty of the Highlands, its restaurants and other amenities.
I have also received final permission for us to visit the new Porsche Hdqrs, so I would like to arrange a lunch there on a Saturday in late January/early Feb.
If any of you have any connections with the Baptist Church on Ashford Dunwoody or the Methodist Church on Mt. Vernon, I would like to schedule an event for us at one of those locations.
Thanks again for your participation and I look forward to seeing you in 2016. Happy Holidays.
